Now that Will is here and the draft and free agency are out of the way, here is a checklist of points the Dallas Cowboys need to handle between now and the start of the 2013 NFL regular season. 1. Decide the best handle situation Tyson Clabo signed with the Miami Dolphins over the weekend, leaving Eric Winston while the only legitimate alternative remaining on the free-agent market. Houston might possibly pay up for Winston or keep Doug Free. Do not expect the Cowboys to do both, and do not expect them to accomplish neither. They are able to not manage to enter 2013 with Jermey Parnell at right tackle. Deadline: Early August 2. Complete a hard-and-fast play-calling process Jerry Jones said last week that Tony Romo will be much more involved in this process, along with the game-planning process, which only increases the confusion regarding who specifically will be calling the offensive pictures this year in Dallas. The stark reality is that Romo has always examined of plays at a top price, therefore things might not change a great deal here. Jonathan Bales of The DC Times has a nice breakdown of what Romo's get a grip on has been like in recent years and why the play-calling method matters going forward. Deadline: Late September 3. Determine Travis Frederick's part The first-round pick is just about the only rookie who will begin from the get-go, but Dallas must decide if he's better off supplanting Phil Costa at middle or Mackenzy Bernadeau at right guard. A little more sense is made by center, but I believe Costa may be the better of the two incumbent beginners. Injuries might make this decision easier on Jason Garrett. Deadline: Late May 4. Choose a starting free security J.J. Wilcox is a rookie, and Matt Johnson is just a rookie for several purposes and intents. Could either beat out the unimpressive 30-year-old Will Allen in order to make a starting position close to Barry Church? Cowboys fans are certainly praying this one of those young folks exists to restore the deceased Gerald Sensabaugh. Deadline: Late June 5. Choose a No. 3 radio The Cowboys can once again have an open struggle with this work. A year ago, it was gained in camp by Kevin Ogletree, but he let it slip away through the time and is currently gone. 2 yrs ago, Laurent Robinson borrowed the work in October. In 2013, rookie third-round pick Terrance Williams will likely battle it out with Dwayne Harris, who was simply excellent late in 2012. The loser might be in big trouble, although, since Cole Beasley will most likely get photographs since the No. 4 recipient working from the position. Deadline: Early Sept
