Garcia goes 1 through to Tiger at Players Shining.

PONTE VEDRA SHORE, Fla. (AP) — Sergio Garcia will need to have been inspired once he saw Padraig harrington in the lead in the Players Championship.

Garcia ran off five straight birdies Fri, then added a 40-foot birdie putt on the par-3 eighth hole in a 7-under 65. That gave him a one-shot lead over Woods one of many early starters at TPC Sawgrass. Your dog was at 11-under 133.

Woods played right behind Garcia. He tied for any lead with a 20-foot skull cap putt at No. some, and took the downright lead — just briefly — which has a short birdie on this fourth hole. Woods made a birdie on his final hole in a second straight 67. That's six shots superior to his previous best beginning at Sawgrass.
