"Each time you go there you're playing against the best of the best," said Nadal. "You never have a final where you say it has opened a little bit… In the past I think it used to happen more often than it does now, so that's why it is so difficult to win titles."
"David is there always," said Nadal. "He has options of winning some like he had in Miami. And here, if he had made it to the semi-finals today he would have had an opportunity also… He deserves to have more Masters titles than he has."
Since 2011, the ATP's Big Four of Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have combined to win 20 of 21 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles.
