Were You Perhaps not Entertained?!

6:32 pm, April 5th, 2013 If nota uh, sorry about this. But when you were, and went back for more, I canat thank you enough. Why all the grand proclamations of seeming finality? Since this is my last trip to SportsGrid, the [plucky] World Wide Web activities location Iave worked for since its start in May 2010. My former colleague Dan Fogarty and I were but internet toddlers in these start, but through learning on the job, our senses (I prefer to think), a slideshows of b00b13z, and pluck, we plucked* our way to a not-insignificant following, a well known fact that Iall always be proud. Of course, though, an individual can not expect to be successful by plucking alone. And so, some thanks: thanks to our readers, again. This could all be fairly useless if not for you personally. Thanks to Dan Abrams, Andrew Cedotal, and Colby Hall for giving this opportunity to me to start with, and extra thanks to Dan for trusting me enough with it to eventually let me take control the website. Enormous because of the person I overran the website from, Dan Fogarty, a great associate then and a great friend now. Really, thanks to every one I caused at Abrams Media a' a skilled, hard-working team if I ever saw one. And I did so see one. (It was this one.) This really is also a time to wish all the best. In particular, I wish good luck to the SportsGrid team going forward: Eric Goldschein, Rick Chandler, Matt Rudnitsky a' a name you could know becausea well, he already writes for SportsGrid a and the RotoExperts team, because they all join forces going forward. And needless to say, I wish best of luck to Dylan Murphy, my second-in-command around these areas, who also leaves after today. Not that he requires luck, outstanding writer and usually motivated sort that he's, but he is wished by me much of it anyway. And Dylan also offers a couple of things to express. They are as follows. Therefore, SportsGrid people: Iam leaving, too. Itas been an excellent run. Certainly my period hasnat been provided that Glennas a he was rubbing sticks as well as Fogarty back in their one-room studio a' but my previous year here, from weekend editing to associate editing, has been good. I wrote some items that Iam proud of and thoroughly enjoyed the co-worker bonding point at our nearby watering hole, but mainly Iam just happy to possess been surrounded by good authors and better people. The daily boredom of news-scrounging can be quite a bit harrowing at times, but to really have the oversight and editorial freedom, from Dan through Glenn through Matt and whoever else I interacted with on the SportsGrid straight back pages, has made me a better writer and immensely pleased. Iall miss work, this place, the weirdly dead silence and all, and the casual free pizza. But primarily Iall miss you, reader, even though you yell at me often. As for where Iam going, if youare interested a to Hardwood Paroxysm, to HoopChalk and The Classical, among other areas, probably. Do hold following me on Twitter checking up on my numerous articles. Iall be round the web. a' And thatas a great way to sum it up a' weall be around the internet. Iall be around here, for instance. Therefore I hope Iall catch you there and that youall drop me a line. Youave taught me much, readers, but judging by the on the job being willingly baited by a fact that I spent element of my last day, I still have much to learn. I owe yaall a lot for the internetty company to date a letas keep it going, can we? Thanks beforehand. Most humbly and respectfully yours in blogdom, Glenn Davis P.S. Manhood (SFW) P.P.S. Posture puddington *I donat mean to pick on Richard Deitsch, who named us that in the above-linked history. I just like being referred to as plucky a' or at the very least something I do being referred to as plucky a and damn it, THIS IS MY MOMENT SO LET ME HAVE IT. Excerpt image via
