I'd like to begin by saying I am a San Francisco Giants fan.A I am, therefore, naturally biased. However, I'm also a football fan.A I've am in the process of going to Boston in-may, lived in Los Angeles for the past five years and have gone to a plethora of MLB ballparks. The playoffs are watched by ai every year regardless of whether my beloved G-men are participants, and my dream baseball team hasn't one, but twoAplayers from the La Dodgers...my own private cope with the devil. Written down an inherently subjective bit, I will try to remain as objective as you are able to, allowing for normal human error. OK. ANecessary preamble over. Bay Area Giants supporters are one of the better in baseball. AHere's why. First, the Giants already have the longest effective sellout streak in all of MLB. AThat is right: The Red Sox's reign finished April 10 at an impressive 794 straight regular-season home games (820 checking playoff games). AAccording to an April 11 report by Mason Levinson of Bloomberg: "The San Francisco Bay Area Giants, who won the World Series in 2010 and 2012, are in possession of the best active regular-season home sellout talent. The Giants, who beat the Colorado Rockies 10-0 yesterday at AT&T Park, have sold out 171 directly since Oct. 1, 2010." There is a correlation between a team's success and supporters spending the money to watch them play.A And the Giants are making a potential empire, having won two of the past three World Series contests. ABut ballpark sellouts are simply the end of the iceberg in demonstrating San Francisco's devotion to its group. Check out the 2012 All-Star voting. ABuster Posey, Melky Cabrera and Pablo Sandoval were all voted into beginning rolesa'but the insanity does not stop there. AFirst baseman Brandon Belt and shortstop Brandon Crawford were both on the list of top five vote-getters at their positions. AEven next baseman Freddy Sanchez, who had maybe not played all year to a casino game, cracked the most effective five. I had several interesting ones here. There is some girl. She'd call me 'Bird Legs' allAgame." Pence has since been welcomed in to the fold by the team and supporters after providing the interest that kept their World Series hopes alive. Participants want to remain in Bay Area. AEven former second baseman Jeff Kent, who left the corporation with bad blood, wants to enter the Hall of Fame as a Giant (per Sports Illustrated ): "All my love, my accomplishments and my heart were left in San Francisco." Fans in San Francisco are, after all, a forgiving bunch.A Pitcher Barry Zito, who has faced severe criticism after failing continually to live up to his gargantuan commitment, was met with deafening applause throughout his lights-out performance in the opening game of the 2012 World Series. As well as the fact that #RallyZito trended worldwide on Twitter through the game: The fervid chants of "Barry! ABarry! ABarry!" Persuaded the "Barry Manilow" gaffe by Fox broadcaster Tim McCarver. AMore notably, the sheer quantity fascinated McCarver's companion Joe Buck, comparing the service for Zito to the great Barry Bonds. Speaking of loud applause...Giants supporters received national recognition for his or her vocal support of their group through the entire 2012 playoffs. AEvery telecast unmasked the amazing insanity of the Giants faithful. San Francisco is really a diverse city, known for the unique quality and progressive population. AThis uniqueness extends to the Giants fanbase as well. AEvery sport at AT&T Park is high in panda-hat-wearing visitors of all ages in clear celebration of Pablo Sandoval, aka "Kung Fu Panda."A Pitcher Tim Lincecum is jokingly known as "The Freak," while former sooner Brian Wilson was all the more embraced for his...eccentricity. Andrew Baggarly wrote a called A Band of Misfits: Tales of the 2010 San Francisco Bay Area Giants, in reference to the Giants' unlikely road to winning the 2010 World Series. AThis same period could be extended to the substantial San Francisco Bay Area fanbase. APerhaps that's a to my own ridiculous San Francisco fandom: I just can not help gushing about my staff, and my other fans. Bring about the good, the poor and the unpleasant, my San Francisco Bay Area Giants. AI will stick by you no matter what, donning my own signature "Baby Giraffe" cap (firstAbaseman Brandon Belt's own spirit dog nickname) and cheering proudly from my third base-side time tickets. And I know I'll be surrounded by at the very least 40,000 the others.
