Top form: United are getting the best out of me because I'm playing every week ... - Mirror.co.uk

David De Gea says he has produced his best form for Manchester United this season because of a consistent run in the team.

The Spanish stopper has kept six successive clean sheets in the Premier League and established himself as United's undisputed No.1 after sharing the role with Anders Lindegaard last season.

And as United prepare to host local rivals Manchester City in Monday's derby showdown at Old Trafford, De Gea revealed how playing regularly had brought out the best in him.

"I've played a lot of matches but I get plenty of rest at home and I eat well – it's important to look after myself.

De Gea urged United, who currently hold a 15-point lead over nearest rivals City, to beat Roberto Mancini's side and nudge themselves closer to a 20th league title triumph.

"I'd love to win the league this season but so does everyone else in the team," the Spaniard told Inside United magazine.
