Person United goal Ayew set to abandon Marseille - ESPN.co.uk

Manchester United and Barcelona goal Andre Ayew has said Marseille will promote him if the purchase price is right. Ayew, 23, is reported to make A300,000 a month - building him OM's second-highest wage earner behind France global Mathieu Valbuena. With the club looking to lower their wage bill, the Ghanaian said he could soon be on his way from the Stade Velodrome. "The membership has been clear: if they get a good supply, they'll listen," Ayew, who has been linked with a host of groups, told Sky Sports. "But I am perhaps not going to keep simply to please them. If I go, it'll be to a team effective at winning trophies." Ayew, the daughter of OM star Abedi Pele, hasn't been quite as efficient in today's campaign as he was last season. He recently unmasked that he has been hampered by tendonitis in a leg but, with Marseille in second place in Ligue 1 and pursuing a go back to the Champions League, told Le Phoceen that he would be doing his utmost to greatly help ensure the club had a successful period. "What is very important is always to work, to do what I can to help the team win the game," he explained. "If I've to fight and fight through points to help the team move ahead, I will continue to do this to the conclusion. We're at a level where it's maybe not the person who matters, it is the team. So, as long as the coach is happy, I will continue." Ayew's brother and team-mate Jordan has presented a staunch support of him after criticism in the French media. He said: "It is hard to play hurt. But my cousin sacrifices himself for the club. Often, the items said about him aren't fair. "In his place, I'd be flat on my right back and would have said: 'Stop'! He is a good example for everybody, for all of the youngsters. Even when I am strong mentally, he is something else. That's his strength. Hats off to him".
