I can see how you can take it like that, a loss certainly would've been worse, but is it more of a case of two points dropped?
Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Lambert said he was pleased with the attitude and the endeavour of the team, and that he looked on it as a point gained and not (like it appears everybody else) two points dropped.
'We played really well, I have got nothing but praise for the performance. That point could be massive. We're pulling teams right into it. I'm not too disappointed at all with the performance. Some of the chances we created were excellent. I am sitting here and the point could be huge for us.'
Lambert adds that with so many teams being in the mix at the bottom now, all we need to do is eek out a win or two and really pulled away from the crowd at the bottom, because he believes the pressure is all on them now and not us, we are playing ourselves into form whilst others can't buy a win.
'He made an honest mistake, he tried to head it away, which we ask him to do. His performance was excellent, he was unlucky.'
He adds that he's been very impressed with Delph since he managed to get a run of games following the injury troubles he's had since joining the club, and to be fair his performances levels are much improved and he's got a lot of credit from many fans as he's showed signs of improving as games have gone on this season.
There are mild positives with the season, and Delph starting to perform to the levels people expected him to is a bonus, as ever it's just keeping him fit.
