Reports on the Danish sports website Sporten (here via The Express), suggest that the Blues are ready to put in a summer offer for the midfielder who has also been targeted by Manchester United and Liverpool.

However, with the trio of Oscar, Hazard and Mata proving to be one of the brighter sparks in Chelsea's lacklustre season, the need to add another creative midfielder into the mix seems a little unnecessary.
Despite it being well documented that the manager isn't fully in charge of transfer policy at Chelsea, it also seems bizarre that the club is looking to bring in new members of the playing squad before announcing a replacement for Rafael Benitez.
Should Chelsea secure a deal for Eriksen it could be suggested that Abramovich has decided to buy the Dane in order to prevent title rivals Manchester United and Manchester City acquiring his services rather than out of a genuine need for the player.
